Enter "Nostalgia"

It has been a while since I have posted anything up here. For a time I was even considering shuttering the doors of Predecessor Pro. The issue at hand is time, money, and a lack thereof. I love genealogy research, which is how this site began. The idea behind it was to make family history fun and more accessible; you did not need to hide behind a boxes of dusty old documents to enjoy it. I don’t know how successful I was at that. Based on the very low traffic this site has received, I would venture to say that it did not expose very many people to the joys of genealogy. So, in order for this site to continue, and for me to make a financial investment in it, I find that this site will be a little different moving forward.

First, we’re going to shake things up a bit. As you have probably already seen in the tag line, we are adding nostalgia into the mix. So now it’s going to read as, “A MOST CURIOUS SITE ABOUT NOSTALGIA, GENEALOGY, RESEARCH, AND HISTORY”. I’m not forgetting about genealogy and research. However, the idea here is to expand the types of posts that are written here, and appeal to a wider set of interests. I’ll throw in some stories about my own interests like the old Nintendo, pinball, Ronald Reagan, and the Transformers. I’ll add in some stuff from my parents era, like The Beach Boys or old 1955 Ford Thunderbirds. Toss in a little Glenn Miller or The Shadow on the radio for the older folks. Lastly, add in some discussions about first generation iPods or Star Wars: The Phantom Menace for those millennials that want to feel nostalgic.

Now, I do not have a schedule mapped out. I don’t think I’m going to set one up. For now, let’s see if I can find the time to get back here to type the words. If so, let’s see what happens first. I’ll see what I can do. All in all, I want to expand what it means to be a Predecessor Pro. Family history doesn’t just happen in the past. It happens to us everyday.

In the words of Tupac, “You gotta make a change; It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes. Let's change the way we eat let's change the way we live, And let's change the way we treat each other; You see the old way wasn't workin’, so its on us to do what we gotta do… to survive”.
